10/21/09 - Turtles, Turtles, Everywhere!

Hey guys, Paige Porsche here and I have some news. As some of you may have heard, my sister got 4 little turtles for her 19th birthday (October 16th). They're red eared sliders and they're water turtles. They have their set-up in the same area as our other turtle that's a box turtle (which is a land turtle). You can see a picture of two of them at left. They've got a lot of energy during the day but they're always really tired at night. Also, they like to hide behind the filter but we got some more foliage in one corner so they can hide there instead. They aren't used to people yet but hell, they're the cutest things I've ever seen. At the moment (since it's 8:43 pm) they are sleeping in one of their plastic tree-like things. They simply wedge themselves in between the branches and poke their nose out of the water. I'll probably have more on them as they get bigger. So stay chill and keep it rocking guys!
